Number is one of the three most important elements for understanding the numbered cards of the tarot’s Minor Arcana. These so-called "pip cards" are read first and foremost based on image, suit, and number. So it stands to reason that the better you understand number, the better you understand these cards!

Unfortunately, because of the variety of numerical philosophies, and the inconsistency with which they're applied by many authors and teachers, most students collect a hodge-podge of meanings for the numbers. This results in a vague understanding of why numbers mean what they mean. As a result, you're stuck with no sense of how it all fits together. 

You need a system to sort out this jumble and make meaningful connections to the cards. The numbers put the story in order. Like a chapter outline, the numbers tell you where you are, what comes next, and how far you are from your happily ever after. In this class, we will learn the basic types of numerical philosophies, and then center on the system that inspired the meanings of the modern tarot: qabalistic numerology. But we will take our understanding one step further. Rather than getting bogged down in keywords and memorized correspondences, this course will focus on the sequence of the numbers: the story of the unfolding numerical progression.

And don’t worry -- even though I will teach some widely available qabalistic correspondences, every class will be embroidered with my unique understanding of each number, based on my ongoing work, study, and meditation. And as always, I will frame much of my understanding with real-world examples and concrete interpretations exemplified by (anonymized) tales from my client work.
